Prime Minister Justin Trudeau speaks with the next premier of Nova Scotia Iain Rankin

Yesterday, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau spoke with Iain Rankin, the new leader of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party and the next premier of the province.

The Prime Minister congratulated Mr. Rankin on his successful leadership campaign and offered support as he transitions into his new role during this unprecedented time.

The two leaders committed to working closely together to support people and businesses through the pandemic, with a particular focus on rolling out vaccines to Canadians as quickly as possible. They also agreed to collaborate to address other shared priorities, such as protecting the environment, creating jobs and growth, and supporting the Atlantic Loop to help build a sustainable future for Nova Scotians.
